Poliomyelitis Vaccination
The work of vaccinating persons up to the age of 40 continued to be undertaken both by
general practitioner's and at the clinics.
The following table shows the number of persons completing courses of injections during 1960:-

Recuperative Holidays
The Area health staff continued to be responsible for dealing with applications for recuperative
holidays and during 1960 176 applications were received compared with 197 the previous year.
Of these, 134 were approved.
DOMESTIC HELP SERVICE
(Section 29)
The total number of cases provided with home help during the year was 1,879, the bulk of
the cases comprising the chronic sick, includingaged andinfirm, who need more or less permanent
help.
