Welfare of Aged Persons
The following information has been extracted from the Annual Report of
the Chairman of the Old People s Welfare Committee.
Chiropody Service
Since last year the number of weekly sessions has been increased. The
Committee now operate 9 sessions a week at clinics, at each of which ten old
people receive treatment, and 2 sessions a week under the domiciliary service
giving a total of 12 old people a week treatment in their homes. Even so,
there is still a waiting list of eight to ten weeks between treatments. In
order not to lengthen the time between treatments the Committee decided that
a waiting list should be compiled of new patients and these would be included
in the scheme as and when a vacancy arose. There are at present
76 patients on the waiting list.
