Provision of Surgical Instruments.—Surgical appliances were
supplied, and repairs and replacements carried1 out in respect of the
following defects:-

Knee 6 Rickety Deformities 12

Blind, Deaf, Defective and Epileptic Children.—The same
conditions prevail in relation to these cases as hitherto.
There are 48 children from this district being maintained in Special
Residential Schools. Ten of these are crippled and physically defective
children, 17 blind, 14 mentally defective, 4 epileptic, and 3 deaf and
dumb. One blind, and one n:entally defective child attend Special
Day Schools in an adjoining district.
