No complaints were received as to unsatisfactory water
supply.
Officers of the Superintendent of Visitors' Department send
me lists giving names and addresses of children absent from
school, with the illness from which they are suffering.
Cases of notifiable infectious diseases contained on these
forms (specimen below) are checked with the Infectious Diseases
Register, and if it is found that any case has not been officially
notified a Sanitary Inspector calls at the address and makes full
inquiries into the matter. All non-notifiable cases, e.g., measles,
chicken pox, whooping cough, are followed up and advice given.
