MASS RADIOGRAPHY
The Director of the Mass Radiography Unit has supplied the following statistics:-
1972 | 1971 | |||
---|---|---|---|---|
Total x-rayed | 2606 | 1158 | ||
Cases of Lung Cancer | 1 M | 1 F | 1 M | 1 F |
Cases of Pulmonary T.B. | 2 M | M | F |
It will be noted that there was a considerable increase in the total number x-rayed in 1970
as compared to 1971.
In my report for 1971 I referred to the proposed reduction in the Mass Radiography Service
which was resisted by Health Committees and Medical Officers of Health.
Although the service is not readily available for general public sessions it continues to be
available at fixed centres which includes the regular weekly session at Wallington Town Hall.
The Unit is also available for visits to factories etc, particularly for x-ray of contacts of a
pulmonary tuberculosis case.
