The number of cases of Syphilis has fallen and it could reasonably be said that Syphilis is
under control in this country in contra-distinction to other parts of the world.
During the year a health visitor was appointed to work part-time at the Special Clinic Her
speical duties included interviewing new cases to ascertain details of contacts, the follow up of
contacts who did not come for investigation on receipt of an appointment and the follow up
of those cases who failed to satisfactorily complete their treatment.
