(e) (i) The Board has no record of the number of structurally separate
dwellings supplied in the area, but the population supplied direct
according to the Registrar General's estimates at 30th June, 1967,
was 1,918.
(ii) No houses were permanently supplied by standpipe.
(f) There were no changes to the general scheme of supply in the area,
(g) There were no additions to the Board's mains in area.
(h) Tests for lead have been carried out in connection with chemical
analyses of samples of running water collected from premises in
the distribution system and I set out below the information
obtained over the period 1st January to 31st December, 1967 *~

The above figures apply to the whole of the Board's area but it
should be pointed out that the general characteristics of the
water are similar throughout the area so that the findings are
applicable to individual Boroughs.
PREVENTION OF DAMAGE BY PESTS ACT
One thousand, five hundred and forty-seven complaints of rat or mouse
infestationswere received and investigated. At 1,672 premises infestations were
confirmed and treatments were carried out. Ten informal notices were served
under Section 4 of the Act.
NOISE ABATEMENT
Thirty-four complaints indicating nuisance from noise were investigated.
Informal action was taken in appropriate cases to reduce the noise level.
