* These were two workers made redundant by the closure of the flat knitting
department at the London Workshops for the Blind, They were found alternative
open employment but this did not appear to be suitable so they left after only
two weeks. The Blind Persons' Resettlement Officer of the Ministry of Labour
is endeavouring to find an alternative form of employment. In addition, two
others attended courses of industrial rehabilitation at Torquay, sponsored by
the Ministry of Labour.
The above table indicates the work done in the education,
rehabilitation, training and employment of blind and partially-sighted persons.
