During the year approximately one thousand, one hundred and fifty one persons were vaccinated against Poliomyelitis in the following groups:-

(1) Persons born in 1962113
(2) Persons born in 1961630
(31 Persons born 1943 1960175
(4) Persons born 1932 - 194284
(5) , Other priority groups149

In addition, one thousand eight hundred and forty six persons received
third doses. Fourth doses for children of primary school age were given to
one thousand one hundred and eighty .six children during the year
Acuts Encephalitis There were no cases in 1962.
Pneumonia There were fiftyfive deaths fcpm Pneumonia in 1962,
compared with forty four in 1961. Twelve,cases of Pneumonia were notified
in 1962, compared with twenty three in 196A. One case was of Influenzal
Pneumonia,
Non-Notifiable Diseases School teachers reported fifty nine cases
of Mumps, two hundred and fifteen cases .of Chicken Pox and four hundred
and seven cases of German Measles School returns are a useful index of
the prevalence of noiwiotifiable diseases andaos.a basis for consultation
wi{h the School Medical Officer
Infestations Two; cases-of infestation by head lice and two contacts,
involving,two families,, were treated'in one house,
The Scqhies and CleansingGlimcs.was.closed at the end of January
owing, to its age and general state and in viewof the small number of
cases required to be dealtwith Alternative, ma thods of treating cases have
been arranged.
International Certificates of Vaccination Five thousand, four hundred
and six International Certificates of Vaccination were scrutinised and
authenticated for five thousand, three hundred and seventy three persons
during the course of the year. This was an increase of nearly eight times
over, the previous year, and was due to the presence of Smallpox in this
country in the early part of the year, and to nearly all other countries
requiring travellers to produce, International Certificates of Vaccination
