Labelling InfringementThis article was described on the label as 'Irish Coffee Milk Chocolate -made with genuine Irish Whiskey' and 'Chocolate for adults', whereas it consisted of milk chocolate and nougat flavoured with whiskey and/or whiskey flavouring, and contained not more than 0.1% w/w of alcohol corresponding to not more than 0.3% v/w of whiskey. The maximum proportion of whiskey in the article was such that one would have to eat over 17 lbs. of the chocolate in order to consume the equivalent of one small whiskey.
CautionedThe importers were informed of the infringements, and an agreement had been reached on having new labels printed bearing the words Flavoured with Genuine Irish Whiskey instead of 'contains Genuine Irish Whiskey but specimens of the new labels had not been received for approval at the year-end.

Labelling Infringements The wrappers in which tnese three samples of chocolate were contained implied the presence of alcohol, but on analysis were found to contain no alcohol, but only artifical flavouring.
CautionedAfter taking the matter up with the importers arrangements were made for the printing of new labels bearing the word 'Flavour' after the description of each article.

This article was found to consist of skimmed milk curd cheese fortified with a little cream, and contained only 4 4% of milk fat instead of 10% or more
Cautioned A meeting was arranged with the manufacturers' representative, Public Analyst, and the Chief Public Health Inspector, when the infringement was fully discussed, but the matter had not been finalised at the year-end.
