Number of houses treated with
insecticide for bugs and fleas 8 20 -
Fourteen school canteen kitchens and nine hospital kitchens
were sprayed for files, ants and moths.
The insecticides used were Pybuthrln, D.D.T. residual and
municipal spray, Gammexane Liquid Spray, Zaldeclde M. Powder and
Fumex Fumlgators.
RODENT CONTROL
The Prevention of Damage by Pests Act, 1949
A. Surface Treatments
(1) Five thousand and sixteen visits were made during the year
by the Rodent Operator and 685 by the Public Health Inspectors to
premises infested or possibly harbouring rats or mice.
Five hundred and seventy-six premises were cleared of rats
or mice and no major infestations were recorded.
(2) The work for the year is generally summarised as under:-
