ICE CREAM
Ice Cream (Heat Treatment etc.) Regulations 1947-1952
Registrations. At the end of 1955 a total of one hundred
and elgity one premises had been registered for the sale of ice
cream in accordance with Section 14 of the Food and Drugs Act
1938 and on five of these premises ice cream could be manufactured.
At the present time a small amount is made at two of the
premises.
During the year ten applications for the registration of
premises for the sale of ice cream were received and granted.
BACTERIOLOGICAL SAMPLiNG OF ICE CREAM
During the year eighty six informal and eighteen repeat
samples of ice cream were taken for bacteriological examination
and provisional grading. The repeat samples were due to a
special investigation of plant which had been giving unsatisfactory
results.

The following table shows the 1955 percentage results, and for comparative purposes the results obtained in 1954.
