SMOKE ABATEMENT.
The few chimneys attached to industrial premises in the
district have been kept under observation.
During the year three smoke and grit nuisances were
detected and abated without the need for formal action.
The following table indicates the nature of the 234 formal and informal samples submitted for analysis during the year 1949:—
