INCIDENCE OF CONGENITAL MALFORMATION
The total number of births notified in 1972 dropped by 9%.
The total number of congenital malformations dropped by 42. This is a real drop in notifications of
37% and is probably due in part to modern birth control services or abortion facilities being more freely
available.
