Deaths and Death Rate
The death rate fell from 12.45 in 1962 to 12. 31 in 1963.
To make an approximate allowance for the way in which the sex and age distribution
of the local population differs from that of England and Wales as a
whole, the crude death rate is multiplied by a comparability factor supplied by
the Registrar General. In 1963, this factor was 1.00 and so the corrected death
rate was the same as the crude death rate, i. e. 12. 31.
The corresponding rate for England and Wales was 12.2, a little lower than
that for Brentford and Chiswick,
Table I gives a list of Causes of Death as classified according to the
International system agreed by the World Health Organisation.
