Standard Improvement Grants
The House Purchase and Housing Act, 193?, as
amended by the Housing Act, 1961, provides for the payment
of grants of half the cost of installing the standard
amenities, subject to prescribed maxima and depending upon
the amenities already existing.
The standard amenities are (a) a fixed bath or shower
in a bathroom; (b) a wash-hand basin; (c) a hot water
supply; (d) an internal water closet and (e) satisfactory
