With regard to the milk samples shown above as unsatisfactory
these arose from a consignment from a Hampshire
farmer which contained a small amount of added
water and in respect of which a warning letter was sent, a
small amount of added water in another single churn but
which was an isolated instance and no action was necessary
and eight instances of foreign matter being found in bottles
of milk and in respect of which warnings were given.
The unsatisfactory samples of vinegar concerned the
sale of a diluted solution of acetic acid which was not
properly described. The retailer concerned was cautioned.
