64 accidents were investigated at premises registered under the Offices, Shops and Railway
Premises Act during the course of the year, none of which was fatal. Table 2 sets out the type of
premises where the accidents occurred and the causes of the accidents.
The accident due to an
explosion occurred in an office when for photographic purposes an attempt was being made to
create with chemicals the fog conditions so prevalent in the London Area before the advent of
