NURSERIES AND CHILD MINDERS
The number of premises in the Borough registered in accordance with the Nurseries and Child Minders Regulation Act, 1948, as private day nurseries, or persons registered as child minders, is as follows:—

Premises used as day nurseries are inspected at monthly intervals by the health visitors to ensure
that the proper standards are maintained and that the conditions of registration imposed by the Council
are complied with.
NURSING HOMES AND NURSING AGENCIES
Under the provisions of the Public Health Act, 1936, and the Nursing Homes Act, 1963, the
responsibility for the registration and supervision of nursing homes lies with the local authority.
This registration applies to institutions not carried on for profit, and the one such hospital in the
Borough is visited from time to time by officers of the Department.
There are no private nursing homes nor nursing agencies in the Borough.

The number of bodies received and post-mortem examinations carried out during the year at the Council's Mortuary in Kingston Lane, Hillingdon were:—
