Community Care
Private Homes for the Aged
There are four privately run homes for the aged in the Borough. These are registered and are
subject to inspection by authorised officers as regards staffing, facilities provided, number of residents
accommodated, etc.
Old People's Workshop
Early in 1966 the Rotary Club of Yiewsley and West Drayton opened a workshop for elderly
persons in West Drayton. This was a very pleasant, purpose-built workshop in Station Road. The
Centre was handed over to the Council from 1st April, 1966, and is now administered and staffed by
the department. Approximately 20 elderly people attend daily and carry out work which is provided
by local industry.
