A new residential Home, "The Burroughs", Mill Road, West Drayton, was opened on 4th April,
1966. This is a purpose-built, designated Home accommodating 48 persons. It is comfortably furnished
throughout in modern style and has all the facilities needed to deal with the very infirm. The Home
was completely occupied before the end of the year.
On 31st December, 1966, there were 322 residents in the eight residential homes administered by
the Council (68 males and 254 females). Of these 15 were the financial responsibility of other Local
Authorities. In addition, the Hillingdon Borough Council was maintaining 88 persons (32 males and
56 females) in homes administered by voluntary organisations and 15 in other Local Authority Homes.
