The following Diphtheria Prophylactics are used for immunisation
purposes:—
TA.F. (Toxoid-Antitoxin Floccules)
TA.M. (Toxoid-Antitoxin-Mixture)
A.P.T. (Alum Precipitated Toxoid).
Number of children immunised during the year.
Total number of certificates given after immunisation.
(a) Preschool children 65
(b) School children 220
As previously mentioned, Bacteriological Examinations for
Infectious Disease are carried out by the Pathologist at the Royal
Hospital, Richmond.
During the year the number of specimens, etc., sent up for examination was as follows:—

Scarlet Fever. During 1938, 42 cases of this disease were
notified and 32 were treated in hospital. The rate per 1,000 living
was 1.09 as compared with a case rate of 2.41 in England and Wales.
In 1937 there were 59 cases.
There were no deaths from this disease.
