The neonatal deaths, i.e. deaths occurring in the first four
weeks numbered 8 out of the total of 15. This gives a neonatal
mortality of 20 per 1,000 births. Six of these deaths were due to
Congenital Debility and Premature Birth.
Seven of these 15 deaths occurred in hospital or nursing homes while inquests were held in three cases.
