Housing Act 1961.
Section 15. Under the provisions of this section it was
found necessary to serve a notice in respect of inadequate personal
washing facilities and food storage accommodation in a house in
multiple occupation.
The Housing (Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation)
Regulations 1962.
The above regulations which came into force on the 22nd May
1962 are designed to ensure that the person managing the house keeps
the premises in good order and repair and makes proper provision in
respect of water supply, drainage, use of bathroor, kitchens, water
closets, common staircases and passages etc.
Rent Act 1957.
Since the above Act came into force on 6th July 1957 the
Department has dealt with thirty-five applications for certificates
of disrepair. During 1962 only two applications were received
and one certificate of disrepair was issued.
