BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATIONS.
The Counties Public Health Laboratories, 66, Victoria
Street, London, S.W.1. undertake bacteriological examinations for
the Council through the Essex County Council Bacteriological
Laboratory Service.
Ice Cream.
During the year fifteen samples of ice cream were submitted
for bacterial examination; two samples of fruit lolly and one of
canned sterilised cream. The results are itemised below and it
is pleasing to note that the majority of the samples were in
Grade 1.
Grade 3. Grade 11. Grade 111. Grade IV,

Two samples of fruit lolly not graded.
The sample of sterilised cream was reported by the Analyst
to be of a satisfactory bacteriological standard.

Where the source of manufacture was outside the area of the Borough copies of the Bacteriologist's reports were forwarded to the authorities concerned.
