Summary of Inspections.
The total number of visits paid by the Sanitary Inspectors and
other personnel of the Health Department Staff to various premises
for all purposes is summarised below, together with the number of
nuisances or defects found under specific headings.
It will be observed that the number of visits paid during the
year is considerably below that for other years due to the inability
of the Corporation to recruit personnel to fill vacancies on the
establishment.
The visits numbered 4,372 as compared with 7,622 in the previous
year; the defects dealt with numbered 884 as compared with 890 in 1953.
