Tuberculosis Deaths.
Of the 19 deaths from tuberculosis, 6 cases, or 31 per cent.,
had not been notified. Particulars of these 6 cases are given
below.
Tuberculous meningitis 2 cases

Miliary tuberculosis 2 cases
Pulmonary tuberculosis 1 case
Particulars are given below of the period elapsing between
notification and death in the 13 notified cases.

Public Health Act, 1925. Section 62.

No action was taken during the year under the above
Regulations and Sections of the Acts.
Prevention of Blindness.
Public Health Act, 1936. Section 176.
During the year arrangements were made for employees of
the Council to be provided with goggles when engaged on work
likely to cause injury to the eyes.
Non-notifiable Infectious Diseases.
The figures given below were obtained from the returns
received from head teachers of schools and give some indication
of the incidence of these diseases during the year.
Chickenpox 25 cases
Whooping Cough 64 ,,
Mumps 49 ,,
German Measles 2 „
Influenza.
Influenza was prevalent in the early part of the year and
was the primary, or a contributory cause, of death in 9 persons.
