Promotion of Cleanliness, etc.
The scheme for head and cleanliness inspections in the schools worked
satisfactorily. Literature on this subject was distributed at the infant welfare
centres and the Health Visitors continued to give advice to parents on the
subject of cleanliness and good hygiene.

Convalescent Treatment.
Where necessary, convalescent treatment for children under five was
provided by the Corporation.
Ophthalmic Treatment of Children under Five Years.
The numbers of children under five years of age examined by the
ophthalmic surgeon were:-
First attendance 51
Total attendance 94
No charge was made for dental and ophthalmic treatment for children
under five.
Milk and other Foods, etc.
During the period 17 applications for assisted supplies of dried milk and
other foods were granted in necessitous cases and supplied free of charge.
The total cost of goods supplied was £11 l1s. 10d.
