Smallpox.
No ease of smallpox was notified during the year. 117
contacts were kept' under observation "by the Department.
Pneumonia, Malaria and Dysentery.
Pneumonia. There were 64 eases of pneumonia notified during
1946, an increase of thirteen on the previous year. Deaths
numbered 58.
Malaria. Thirteen cases of malaria were notified during
the year, ten of which were treated in hospital. All cases
were contracted abroad.
Dysentery. One case of dysentery was notified and treated
in hospital during the year, There were no deaths.
Acute Poliomyelitis, Acute Polio-encephalitis.
Three cases of acute anterior poliomyelitis were
notified, during the year. All were treated in hospital. There
were no deaths.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum 1937 - 19U6.
