Smallpox
No case of smallpox was notified during the year. Twenty
contact's were kept under observation by the Department.
Pneumonia, Malaria and Dysentery
Pneumonia. There were 51 cases of pneumonia notified during 1945
an increase of two on the previous year. Deaths numbered 55,
Malaria. Two cases of malaria were notified during the year, one
of which was treated in hospital. Both cases were contracted
abroad.
Dysentery. Pour cases of dysentery were notified and treated in
hospital during the year. There were no deaths.
Acute Poliomyelitis, Acute Polio-encephalitis
Two cases or acute anterior poliomyelitis were notified during
the year. Both were treated in hospital. There was one death.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum 1937-45
