PETROLEUM (REGULATION) ACTS, 1928 & 1936
All promises licensed for the storage of petroleum
spirit and carbide of calcium wore kept under supervision by
the Sanitary Inspectors, 223 visits being paid during the year.
Licences were issued in respect of 122 promises.
SHOPS ACT 1934
No formal action under the relevant provisions of this
Act was necessary.
The certificate granted in previous years for one shop
under Section 10(2) was renewed.
RATS AND MICE ( DESTRUCTION) ACT, 1919
This Act is administered throughout the County by the
Middlesex County Council, a number of complaints of rat
infestation were received during the year. These were
forwarded to the County Superintendent of Rat Destruction.

ESTABLISHMENTS FOR MASSAGE OR SPECIAL TREATMENT
All establishments for massage or special treatment
licensed by the Council were kept under supervision by the
Department. Eight licenses were granted during the year.
HAIRDRESSERS' AND BARBERS' PREMISES
A register has been compiled of all hairdressers' and
barbers' premises in the Borough. Regular inspection of these
promises was carried out.
