Infant Life Protection.
There are no large and unsatisfactory homes where numbers of fosterchildren
are received. There have been frequent instances where
foster-mothers have failed to give prior notice of intention to take a child.
No proceedings were authorised during the year for contravention of the
law, but in every instance warning letters were sent. Special cards and
report forms are kept for foster-children, and the Health Visitors keep in
touch with all foster-mothers at least once a month.
All the Health Visitors are appointed Infant Life Protection Officers,
and the visits of supervision of foster-children are carried out by them.
