During 1940 action was taken under Scction 39 of the Public Health Act, 1936. The owner having failed to comply with a Statutory Notice, the Council carried out the work and recovered the costs.
No proceedings were taken under the following Statutory Powers:
(a)—Sec. 9, 10 and 16, Housing Act, 1936—(Repair of dwelling-houses).
(b)—Sec. 11 and 13, Housing Act, 1936—(Demolition Order).
(c)—Sec. 12, Housing Act, 1936—(Closing Order, underground rooms).
