It will be noticed that the average yearly figures for the two Stations
given below are different from those quoted previously. This is due to
the introduction of new units - micrograms per cubic metre - for expressing
concentrations of both smoke and sulphur dioxide. The figures
for earlier years have been converted so that comparisions can be made.
