Miscellaneous recommendations
(xxix) The system of paid pupillage should be extended with
the prospect of its ultimately becoming universal.
(xxx) The provision in this country of any examinations specially
intended for sanitary inspectors by any other body than the Board
should be discouraged.
(xxxi) The Minister of Health should direct regular inspections
of the Board's examinations.
To conclude the report covering the activities of the Sanitary
Inspectors' section of the Department, one must express appreciation
for the support given by the Chairman and Members of the
Public Health Committee and the Medical Officer of Health, and
for the co-operation received during the year from other Departments
of the Council, and in particular from the Housing Manager
and his staff. Mr. Perry, the Housing Manager, has greatly assisted
in the work under the Housing Act, and by his co-operation it has
been possible to go ahead with the closing and demolition of unfit
properties.
