Lectures to food management and staff at the food premises as Carried
out in many boroughs is not practicable in this Borough because all such
Premises are of the smaller type, and better propaganda can be put over by
the Inspectors during their visits.
Rodent Control.
The year's work in connection with this branch of the Department's
Work can be divided into two sections (1) sewer treatment, and (2) surface
treatment.
Sewer Treatment. Two maintenance treatments were carried out under
the supervision of the Deputy Senior Sanitary Inspector. The first treatment
shows that out of 953 manholes baited, the total number of 'Takes'
was 615, or 64.5 per cent. Of the 615 'takes' 409 were recorded as "complete".
With the second treatment 1,294 manholes were baited, the number of
'takes' being 301, or 24.7 per cent.; 158 'takes' out of the 301 were
complete".
