5. RENT ACT. 1957.
8 applications were received for Certificates of Disrepair.
1 was withdrawn, 2 Certificates were issued and Landlords Under
takings were accepted in the other 5 cases.
The Council cancelled 3 Certificates of Disrepair and
issued 6 form 'P' 's (Certifications of defects remedied).
6. REMEDY OF DEFECTS WITH0UT SERVICE OF FORMAL NOTICES.
60 defective dwelling houses were rendered fit byinformal
action.
7. ACTION UNDER STATUTORY POWERS.
(a) Proceedings under Sections 9. 10. 12 and 16 of Housing Act.1957:
(1) Number of dwelling houses in respect of which
notices were served requiring repairs Nil
(2) Number of dwelling houses which were rendered fit
after service of Formal Notice Nil
(b) Proceedings under Public Health Acts:
(1) Number of dwelling houses in respect of which
notices were served requiring defects to be remedied 4
(2) Number of dwelling houses.. in which defects were
remedied after service of Formal Notices by:-
(a) Owners 4
(b) Local Authority in default of owners Nil
(c) Proceedings under Sections 16,17, 34 and 42 of Housing Act,1957:
(1) Number of dwelling houses in respect of which
Demolition Orders were made Nil
(2) Number of dwelling houses demolished in Pursuance
of formal action 16
(d) Number of houses or parts of houses closed under:
(1) Section 17 of the Housing Act, 1957 1
(2) Section 18 of the Housing Act, 1957 Nil
(e) Informal Action:
