Prevalence of, and Control Over, Infectious

Immunisation.
On 1st January, 1946, the County Council became the
authority responsible for immunisation, but the arrangements
as to clinics remained unchanged. There was a slight decrease
in the number of children treated compared with the
previous year. It is estimated that 61 per cent. of the
children under 5 have now been immunised.

Four cases of diphtheria were notified during the year;
in one, the diagnosis was not confirmed. The remaining
three were members of one family—a child not previously
immunised and two adults.
