Section F. PREVALENCE OF, AND CONTROL OVER,
INFECTIOUS AND OTHER DISEASES.
The figures for Scarlet Fever, 34, is nearly double that for 1936,
which was 19. It, however, approximates to the number of cases
in 1935—31.
The cases were spread over the year as follows:—
January 4
February 1
March 2
April 2
May 2
June 6
July 4
August 3
September 2
October 1
November 3
December 4
Of the 6 cases which occurred in June, 4 were boys of about the
same age from the school in Princes' Road, Buckhurst Hill. Precautions
were taken and the school kept under observation, and I am pleased
to say that there were no more cases.
The number of cases of Diphtheria—6—are very much less than
in 1936; the number then being 15. This is very gratifying and
compares favourably with previous years, the figures for which are:—
42 1934—28, 1935—8, 1936—15, and 1937—6.
