SCHOOLS.
During the year two new schools were opened. Cranford Junior School was opened in
April and replaced the Temporary School which had been established in the Memorial Hall.
Chatsworth Junior School was opened in August. Both of these new schools have accommodation
for 400 children.
The number of children on the registers at the end of the year was 11,792, accommodated
in thirty-four departments, including one Central School.
The influx of population continues to put severe strain on the accommodation and in
eleven departments this has to be supplemented by the use of huts, etc.
SWIMMING BATHS AND POOLS.
The principal municipal swimming baths at present are situated at Hounslow and are
provided with an up-to-date filtration and chlorination plant, and are in every way satisfactory,
another and out-of-date swimming bath is provided at Isleworth.
The older swimming bath at Isleworth will be closed down, when the new and larger
swimming baths with appurtenances on modern lines, now being erected at Isleworth and Heston,

The one privately owned Swimming Pool situated in the district is provided with a satisfactory
