(h). Dental Defects.
The Dental Surgeon's Report on the work of the Dental Clinic is given below.
ANNUAL REPORT OF THE SCHOOL DENTAL SURGEON.
During the year the pressure of the increasing demands of the Dental Scheme has
continued, and has become very heavy.
With a view to reducing the large number awaiting treatment, extra Dental Assistance
was allowed, and during the first three months of the year a part-time Dental Surgeon assisted
for a number of sessions. As this was found to be totally insufficient, the part-time Dental
Surgeon, Mr. H. F. Metcalf, was appointed half-time as from April 1st, 1932, with a resulting
increase in the amount of work carried out under the School Dental Scheme.
Later in the year, a Junior Dental Clinic Clerk Attendant was also appointed, which
helped to some extent, but at the end of the year there was a very large number of cases still
awaiting appointments for treatment.
