1/11/22—Letter to parent:—
" Owing to the long continued trouble of your
daughter's ear and the possibility of serious consequences,
I have arranged with one of the leading
specialists in London to see her with a view to
the possibility of a cure.
Will you take your daughter to
Hospital on Monday next the 6th inst., and be
there at half-past one without fail."
6/11/22—Letter from Mr. "B":—
"I saw the girl you sent up this afternoon,
and I agree with you, that she ought to have a
radical mastoid operation. I have put her name
on my list for admission to hospital and will send
her a card as soon as I can arrange for a bed,
probably in about three weeks time.
Later I think she ought to have her tonsils
removed as they are very large, but I shall leave
them until after the mastoid has been done."
4/12/22—Complaining of pain over R. Mastoid. Has been
up to Hospital and waiting admission. Temperature
98 6.
5/12/22—Little better.
7/12/22—Moie pain—an exacerbation of discharge.
9/12/22—Letter to Mr. " B " .—
" This child who is waiting admission for
operation, has been up the last three days complaining
of considerable pain over the mastoid.
There has been, however, no temperature on the
occasions on which she was seen."
" I thought I had better let your know in case
you could possibly expedite her admission."
19/12/22—Operation.
