22/9/21—Attends hospital once a fortnight.
3/10/21—Both ears discharging now—attending Hounslow
Hospital.
Does not attend for daily treatment in interval of
visiting hospitals.
27/10/21—R. still discharging. Pain over Mastoid, Post
occipital glands enlarged. Temperature 99. Continue
treatment.
This brought about the following correspondence :—
29/10/21 — Letter to Secretary, — Hospital.
"I saw this child at our Clinic, who stated that
she had been told not to come to the hospital any
more. She still has a discharging ear requiring
treatment. She had when I saw her last, pain
over the mastoid, with enlarged occipital glands
with a temperature of 99, and was certainly a
case, which in my opinion, should have been kept
under observation.
However, one is chary of taking the statement
by children even at this age as accurate, but I
thought it was a case which ought to be looked
into, in view of the possibility of grave danger to
the child."
Letter from Secretary, — Hospital.
" I have made enquiries re the above child
and cannot find that she was told to leave off
attending May I ask you to send her here any
morning at 10 o'clock, when she will be attended
to and perhaps she may be able to enlighten us
as to who told her to cease her visits."
After this she attended the Clinic regularly and
things quietened down again. Her hearing meantime
was getting worse.
