Where practicable, condemned food was disposed of for animal
feeding. The remainder was incinerated at the Corporation's Refuse
Works.
Legal Proceedings.
One prosecution was taken under the provisions of the Food &
Drugs Act, 1938, Section 3, for the sale of a loaf in which was embedded
a beetle. The defendant pleaded guilty and was fined £5, and costs
amounting to £3. 10s. Od. were awarded against him.
