INFANTILE MORTALITY.
During 1951 there were 17 deaths in infants under one year of age,
giving an infantile mortality rate for Wimbledon of 20.41 per thousand
live births as compared with a rate of 29.6 for England and Wales.
Fourteen of the 17 deaths occurred during the first four weeks of
life, giving a neo-natal death-rate of 16.81 per thousand live births.
The following table shows the causes of and ages at death, and
also the Ward distribution.
