During 1946, a start was made in the administration of boosting
doses to children attending infants' schools. Two infants' schools
had been completed by the end of the year, 287 boosting doses in
all having been given.
As the Council is an autonomous Maternity and Child Welfare
Authority, the immunisation record-cards of all children under
school-leaving age are in the possession of the Public Health Department.
TUBERCULOSIS.
During the year, ninety six cases of tuberculosis were added
to the register, four more than in 1945. Of these, sixty seven
were new cases and the remainder were transfers from other areas.
The following cases were removed from the Register: —

There were 44 admissions to hospitals or sanatoria during the
year.
