IMMUNISATION AGAINST DIPHTHERIA.
Sessions of the Diphtheria Immunisation Clinic were held regularly
during the year.
The number of children immunised during the period is as
follows: —
Primary Immunisation.
Children under 5 years of age 555
Children aged 5 to 14 years 27

Boosting Doses.
No. of children given boosting doses 287
These figures relate only to children immunised under the Local
Authority's Scheme, and do not include a considerable number of
children immunised by private doctors.
The following table shows the state of immunisation in Wimbledon in relation to the child population: —

During the year each health visitor was given a complete list
of all the children under the age of five years living in her district.
This list was checked off against the record-cards of children under
five who had previously been immunised through the Authority's
Scheme. The health visitors then concentrated on home visits to
those children of whom there was no previous record of immunisation.
Immunisation Clinics are held at the Health Centre, Pelham
Road, every Tuesday and Saturday morning. Children under
school age, and school children, are immunised during these sessions.
The great majority of children attending are under the age of five
years.
Where the need has arisen, arrangements have been made for
immunisation to be carried out in the Infant Welfare Centres and
in the Schools.
