Marlowe Road Redevelopment Area
In February, the Council decided to investigate the possibility
of declaring a redevelopment area in the Wood Street Ward. This
involved the detailed inspection of some 300 houses, 256 of which
were completed by the end of the year.
Rent and Mortgage Restriction Acts
During the year thirteen certificates were granted to tenants.
No applications were received for clearance certificates.
Housing Act, 1936, Section 62
Applications for "permitted number" were received from
landlords and certificates issued during the year respecting 85
lettings. Thirty special enquiries from the Housing Manager were
also dealt with.
