(b) Sunlight.—325 ultra-violet light treatments were given
during the year.
(c) Dental.—Mr. L. W. Elmer, L.D.S., Senior Dental Officer,
reports as follows :—
“An effort was made this year to treat the “ priority
group of expectant and nursing mothers and the dental staff
examined more than double those seen last year.
“With the present limited staff this meant that fewer
children under five were treated.
“I am even more strongly of the opinion that the true
order of priority should be :—
(a) pre-school children.
(b) school children.
(c) adolescents.
“ If circumstances permitted these categories to be treated
systematically, I am convinced that the expectant mother, much
to her benefit and, incidentally, her relief, would need little
or no dental attention."
