The total of Walthamstow cases helped was 72 plus 48 general
interviews. All mothers from Walthamstow were placed in homes
in Essex. The grand total of Essex cases dealt with was 135.
Miss Williams states that fewer cases were admitted to the
Home because of the difficulty in the placing of the babies, thus
necessitating a longer stay in the Home.
During the financial year ended the 31st March, 1951, out
of a total of payments amounting to £2,172, the largest single
contribution was the maintenance payments received from the
mothers and which totalled nearly £1,172. The next largest was
from the Diocesan Association totalling £460, and the third donations
totalling £230.
